一、课程的性质、任务与基本要求

（一）性质与任务

本课程是高职高专的必修基础课。其目的和任务是培养学生英语口头表达和交往能力，使学生能就日常生活中的一般情景进行恰当、流利的交谈，能就所听材料或熟悉题材进行对话、讨论等连贯性发言。

（二）基本要求

1、能够就所听材料进行回答，复述和讨论；
对熟悉题材略作准备，能作3-5分钟的连贯性即席讲话，表达正确、思路清楚，语音语调正确，自然，无重大语法错误。

2、能用英语就所熟悉的题材进行专题讨论发言。
